Aquamist
Following is a photo gallery with brief descriptions of the installation of
the Aquamist System. All info and photos provided by the late Barry Tisdale.
|
2½ gallon S/S soda fountain syrup tank used as the water tank. (Flea market item - $4). Pump and pump control valve mounted directly to it.
Jaz fuel level sender also mounted into tank (90 ohm model - works directly with Autometer GM type gauge).
All fittings quick-disconnect for oil filter access. 2-bolt mounting.
Inner fenderwell had to be notched to clear tank.
This is the main relay, firewall mounted.
The pressure switch and the relay for the High-Speed valve is also shown.
The High-Speed valve is actuated by the pressure switch and relay, connecting the High-Speed valve to the injector wiring at your selected boost setting.
Only used on the System 2C.
The two jets are installed in the throttle body using the supplied tap.
They are 'tee'd' together to the 4mm supply line.
The fittings are all quick disconnect and of very nice quality.
Dashboard mount of water level gauge (Autometer GM aftermarket fuel level gauge) and Autometer Fuel Pressure gauge.
Mounted in 2-1/16" pods on the steering column.
In the middle is a 10 LED oxy sensor monitor; MSD knock monitor in upper left of photo.

| UPDATE
TO THE AQUAMIST INFO:
5/8/2000 Addenda to the Aquamist info:
After a few weeks of use, the SS water/alky tank was found to contain a
good bit of gelatinous "goo" & white flaky crud; the aluminum tube that
houses the fuel level sender was well corroded - thus the junk in the tank.
Circuit board of the sender was also discoloring & copper traces were
getting pitted. Replaced the Al tube w/ a piece of PVC (bathroom sink
tailpiece) and coated the circuit board w/ 4 coats of marine polyurethane
varnish. Good shape 4 months later. |
