Problems with your Aquamist System? Here are a few photos and information that might help you fix things. All info and photos provided by the late Barry Tisdale.
2½ gallon S/S soda fountain syrup tank used as the water tank. (Flea market item – $4). Pump and pump control valve mounted directly to it. Jaz fuel level sender also mounted into tank (90 ohm model – works directly with Autometer GM type gauge). All fittings quick-disconnect for oil filter access. 2-bolt mounting. Inner fenderwell had to be notched to clear tank.
Addenda to the Aquamist info:
After a few weeks of use, the SS water/alky tank was found to contain a good bit of gelatinous “goo” & white flaky crud; the aluminum tube that houses the fuel level sender was well corroded – thus the junk in the tank. Circuit board of the sender was also discoloring & copper traces were getting pitted. Replaced the Al tube w/ a piece of PVC (bathroom sink tailpiece) and coated the circuit board w/ 4 coats of marine polyurethane varnish. Good shape 4 months later.
